Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

When the Cosmopolitan Hotel of Las Vegas is on the phone, you take the call. Fortunately new CMO just happened to be a long-time client and friend of Stewart’s and already knew he wanted to work with us to produce new lifestyle content for the property. Because of this relationship, we had the opportunity to work directly with the brand - as opposed to an agency - and were given the opportunity to dream up the creative vision for the project. It was an exciting opportunity and we could tell it was going to be fun content to produce, so, of course, we agreed.

This time we created three :15's and three :30's in both English and Spanish over a two-day period.

The result was a happy client, which makes us all feel like we accomplished something great as a team.

Family Dollar Fall Lifestyle Shoot

Fritos - Garth Brooks

The brief was short and sweet and it read, “We may have Garth Brooks for forty-five minutes at Frito-Lay's HQ next Thursday at one PM. Hold the time, and we will get back to you with a concept."

Despite warnings that this wouldn’t be a big budget production, we were excited for the project because we’d worked with creative team previously and trusted that whatever they were cooking up would be a fun project.

We went to work, scouting the HQ, diving into their creative process, and helping to shape a working concept for the shoot. The idea we landed on was having Garth Brooks help out the receptionist at Fritos by taking over while she went on break.

We got sign-off from Garth, but still needed a script and didn’t have the time to get one vetted by the creative team. Stewart, always the steady hand of experience, had been in situations like this before and knew what to do. We hired an improv troupe, gave them an outline, briefed them, and prepared to film with three cameras to maximize the footage we could capture.

The Frito-Lay's HQ is large and echoes, and we were scheduled to be filming during lunchtime. That made recording audio a challenge but our team knew what they were up against and managed to get clean audio despite the conditions. Crowd control was also a challenge, because the busy HQ right after lunchtime is a very busy place. We managed to shoot the spot in a blistering forty-five minute production because the talent was extremely professional and did a great job of playing off one another. It went fast and we had a lot of fun in the process.

We shot multiple takes and each had a different bit that worked. We’re very pleased with how the final product turned out. Sadly, the spot got very little airtime as Garth’s new track took “center stage” during that time. Still, if you have any old Fritos bags lying around, see if there is a free Garth Brooks download in it. You may have a collector's item.

Gatorade HS Girls

Gatorade has a division that is geared towards high school coaches and very couple years, they produce a volume of assets to appeal to this demographic. They reached out to us about capturing stills of real high school athletes to use for marketing to coaches promoting the Gatorade program for their school.

This sounded like a fascinating project but it was going to take work to realize their vision. The challenge: Finding a school that would allow us to work with all the teams in-season, to capture the content we needed.

We quickly learned that school districts either are either designated as a “Pepsi district” or not -and Gatorade is a Pepsi product- immediately eliminating many schools. Filming during the season meant that we’d have plenty to shoot but a difficult time getting any help from an athletic staff that was already spread thin.

Our Gatorade rep helped make introductions, but it was our job to find the school and get them to commit. To make things more complicated, legally, we couldn't pay the school any money. Instead, we could provide lots of Gatorade swag.

Tapestry Wines

Weave Your Story is the brands' tagline.  Tapestry is a new wine that is being marketed towards the 25-30 year-old crowd.
The concept was to shoot a friend's get-together on a rooftop overlooking a city featuring the Tapestry bottle. The ask was for fifteen finished still images, a :30-second spot, and a :15 cutdown. Since Tapestry is being positioned as a love letter to California's Paso Robles, we figured that we needed to bring something special to the party.

For casting, we spread a wide net as we had a specific look we were going for. We scouted for days and finally found an amazing location sixteen floors up in someone's apartment.
The irony is that we found it because our intern had been at a house party there a few weeks earlier.
With the prep done, we were ready to go. Drama ensues as Dallas had a freak cold front roll through town and it was windy and 40 degrees. (sixteen floors up). Unfortunately,  we did not have the latitude to move the shoot as the client was coming in from northern California and our day was the only day it was going to happen. In came the heaters (which did not do much) but the talent were all troopers and motored through. You will notice a few coats but they seemed to work with the vibe. The shoot started at eleven and went until dark and just got better and better.
The client was thrilled and the product launch is underway. This type of combo production is what we excel at doing, they are the sweet spot for SCPictures.

We bring a broadcast level of production to our still shoots and a still photographer's eye to our live-action shoots.
